Well, That Went Better

Last weekend, MB and I hit the trails near his hometown to get our long run in.  We talked on our way out there about how to approach this week’s run, ESPECIALLY with everyone’s really useful tidbits and suggestions.  We decided that we would start together and then, when he was ready, MB would pull ahead and I would continue to run my own 7 miler.  Guess what?

It worked!

Miles 1-2 were run together, averaging around 10 minutes per mile.  He took off and I settled in.

Oh and before settling in my app freaked out and said I had run 117 miles which was super fun.

Mile 3: 10:58

Mile 4:  10:06 {MB turned around, I got a high 5!!}

Mile 5:  10:39

Mile 6:  10:16

Mile 7:  10:33 {.75 with MB in tow!}

This is one of the best long runs I’ve had back from my marathon training.  I felt like I was really running but not over doing it.  I also didn’t have that dreaded pit in my stomach from trying to chase my husband for 5 or 6 miles.  I finished smiling and ready for a Panera bagel and cinnamon roll, fuel of champions.

Big huge thanks to everyone that responded with your ideas for us to be able to stick together.  It really helped.

    My partner is my dog and we are still figuring each other out. Well, I’m just trying to figure out how to get her to slow down and run next to me. 😉 PACE YOURSELF, DOG.
