Five Links Friday

Because I realized that they aren’t just things — they are links.

Plus my {very sad} soda update.

But first — happy weekend.  This week was a doozy.  Let’s get right to it.

  1. I’m on the hunt for a training program that incorporates speed work.  The resounding response from the internet was to go with Run Less, Run Faster. What are your thoughts?
  2. Even if you’re not a Game of Thrones fan, you have to admit that their weekly viewers guide is UX at its very, very VERY best.
  3. Why did you leave your government job? Said no one ever.
  4. Uhhh.  There’s going to be a lifetime move about Saved by the Bell. Thank GOD.
  5. New emojis are coming!

Guys,  I had 10 SODAS this week!  10!!!  Katie, one of my accountability friends summed it up pretty nicely for me.

It started on Sunday when after not sleeping at my in laws and then beasting 7 miles I needed it.  I can’t really describe it.  Then an awful work week + the issue referenced above mean 2 sodas at work and a bunch of sodas when out to dinner.  MB is going to help me in the next two weeks stick to my no-soda plan by helping to cook at home which means no soda!  {Plus money and calories saved — hooray!}

What can I replace soda with when I’m super stressed or sad?  That aren’t cookies?

    Lemonade? I too hate bubbly/sparkly water and the only thing that makes me feel like I’m drinking something delicious is lemonade. Unfortunately it basically has as much sugar as soda, but less chemicals??

      Agree! It’s just not as satisfying! Why do I have to crave comfort from something that is killing my insides. #laurenprobz

    You can kick it!!! I used sparkling water to start. Not gonna lie, I do have one every so often. Like this morning when my want to make coffee was not happening!
