Here we are in double digit training weeks, which is wild to me. I feel like it was just a few hours ago that I was sitting on this couch not able to walk. And here we are. Less than a month to go before the big show.
Let’s talk about this past week, shall we?
Kanga is always super happy to see me post run.
Total miles: 23
Total miles this cycle: 217
Toughest run: I’m so lucky for the second week in a row I didn’t have a really tough run. Sunday’s long run was a stitch challenging in the end. I was tired, my feet are killing me. But when I finished, I felt like a million bucks. I love long runs like that.
Best run: My two mid week runs were awesome. As I said earlier in the week, my poor MB was home sick with the stomach flu. So I took my runs as an opportunity to get away from the germs as much as possible. I took the runs nice and easy and spent as much time as possible out in the fresh air. I found a few new routes that I incorporated into my long run. I loved being able to get outside, even though it was so so cold.
Knee and hip pain on a scale of 1 (post Motown Philly) to 5 (the day before the Richmond marathon): 3 My hip has been behaving but my knee felt like it was feeling when I was in physical therapy which was weird. Today I’m going to be rolling and icing to make sure it’s all together before i start training this week. Also randomly, my big toe joint is KILLING today. I took my anti inflam and will throw some ice on that bad boy as well. Getting old is so stupid.
I think that about wraps it up for me this week! It was my final cutback week before peak week. Our 20 mile run is now less than a week away. I already bought post long run oreos, so I think I’m going to be set.
How was your week?
